When we forget His glorious deeds and lose track of remembering, we find ourselves in even darker places than our experiences brought. Rebellion reeks havoc and the light is shoved out of sight, out of life, sometimes too far to trace the crooked steps back.
Psalm 106:7 says, “When our fathers were in Egypt, they gave no thought to Your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea.”
Egypt. Job loss. Debt slave. Health issues. Chronic pain. Chronic anything. Marriage issues. Sometimes we wandered into Egypt and other times God lead us there to bring us through it to greater glory. Greater glory sometimes comes through the dark times of Egypt. Light bursts forth in redemption when He parts the waters.
He is still present in Egypt. His provision can quickly be forgotten if we do not choose to remember. Remember His kindnesses. Remember His provision. Remember the gift. Remember the past salvation, current salvation and eternal salvation. Remember Him. He is long suffering. He has been patient with you. He calls you His own. You are His.
